When does the reservation have to be paid?

After the reservation you will receive a confirmation by email. Is your booking 1 month or less for your holiday? Then you immediately pay the full rental price. Are you booking more than a month away your holiday? Then you pay 30% of the rent when booking. You pay the remaining part one month before departure. The total rent includes 20% for the rental of the movable property (household effects) and 80% for the immovable property (building).

What are the cancellation conditions?

For cancellations up to one month before departure, 30% of the rent (the advance) will be charged. In case of cancellations afterwards, 100% of the rent will be charged.

What time can we check in and do we have to check out?

Normally, check-in is possible from 3 pm. If you would you like to come earlier, please send me a message. Sometimes that will be possible, but not always. Happiness has a key box. Check-out: before 11 am.

How many people can sleep in the apartment?

4 persons (max 3 adults): there is 1 double bed, 1 bunk bed and a sofa bed. These are all located in the bedroom. The master bedroom and the bunk bed (+ sofa bed) can be separated by a curtain.

Are pets allowed?

No, pets are not allowed.

Can I park my car near the apartment?

Parking in De Haan is free everywhere. In the main streets you can only stand for an hour with your parking disc. But just in front of Happiness there is a large parking lot where you can park for free all day (or your entire stay). The entrance to the parking is next to the Erly snack bar (via Google Maps: Parking De Haan aan zee).

Can we store our bicycles somewhere safe?

Yes that is possible. I have a garage a 4-minute walk from Happiness De Haan. This garage is only for bicycles and is also used by guests of 1 other holiday apartment. If you would like to use that garage, please let me know. I will then provide you with the key and practical information. You can also rent bicycles at Fietsen Catrysse, 200 meters from Happiness.

Are there shops nearby?
Yes, they are! And these are all accessible on foot. Delhaize is located around the corner, just like Staelens bakery and several other shops. 

How far is it to the beach?

The beach is 900 m from Happiness. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes by foot. Happiness also has a folding wagon. Children with tired legs can be transported comfortably in it!

Is there an elevator in the building?

No, the apartment is on the first floor.

Is there a baby cot and high chair available?

Yes, they are both present. Please let us know in advance if you want to use it (free of charge).

What's in the kitchen?

There is a fridge (with freezer compartment), a hob, oven, Senseo coffee machine (+ pads), kettle and a dishwasher. All obvious kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery and glasses are at your disposal. The storage room also has a washing machine and drying rack (+ ironing board and iron).

Is there WiFi?

In Happiness you can use WiFi for free. 

Can I come by public transport?

Yes, that is perfectly possible. It is best to get off in Ostend by train. Take the coastal tram there towards Knokke. Get off at the 'De Haan aan Zee' (8th stop). This stop is a 4 minute walk away from Happiness. Walk towards the Belfius and follow the street on the left (Wenduinesteenweg). The apartment is a little further on your right (above the Saint Beauté beauty center).

Can I smoke inside the apartment?

Smoking in the apartment is strictly prohibited. Smoking is allowed on the terrace.

Does a deposit have to be paid?

No, giving confidence is gaining confidence. If something breaks during your stay, please be so honest to report it to me. I myself have two sons, such things just happen.
